Abstract
This paper considers the problems confronting Latin American universities in general, and Colombian universities in particular, in the face of the challenges and ~inequalities posed by economic and nowledge globalisation. Four. curriculum components are suggested for meeting this
challenge: knowledge interaction, research, modernity and modernization, and the promotion of autochthonous values.
