Research and development models in higher education institutions of Colombia: the case of Universidad del Norte in the colombian Caribbean region

The main idea of this paper is to identify the management patterns for university research according to the most outstanding models which characterized Research and Development structures (R+D) in Colombian universities; also, analyzing research administration the typical processes on countries with low scientific absorption, highlighted the case of Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla Colombia.
