Abstract

In this research study the usefulness of me Socratic method is considered in 12 study cases. Such cases show the qualitative increments in the levels of organization and development of the thinking process of students at different schools and socioeconomical levels in terms of metacognitive processes, as well as in factors such as pertinence, coherence, quantity and precision of expressed thoughts. while applying the Socratic method in the classroom. At the end of the text, some suggestions are made to facilitate the implementation of the Socratic method. Similarly - in the form of addenda - a fragmented example of this application is presented on one side, and on the other side, some ¡tems that may ease the Socratic dialogue in the classroom are also presented.
